Nopales: El Nopalita

The cycle of a cacti includes polyps falling to create new cacti. The feelings that come with failing and starting over are expressed through color theory and placement in this project. The cacti bush on the alleyway between Grand and Homan Avenue in Northside inspired many pieces of this beautiful asset to be painted and drawn. In 2020 the nopal was personified in the Nopalita figure by Gabe Gonzalez.
